SRINAGAR: Five people, including two foreign militants, were killed in the Kashmir Valley since Thursday night, while unidentified militants attacked a mini bus carrying students in Pulwama district causing damage to the vehicle only, police said on Friday.
According to a defence spokesman, two foreign militants were killed in an encounter at Bumloora in Ganderbal on Thursday night who where hiding in the residential house of Ghulam Rasool Patwari.
The two militants were killed after a three hour long gun battle. 3 AK rifles, 8 magazines, 400 rounds, 2 wireless sets, 1 UBGL, 6 UBGL grenades and 2 hand grenades were recovered from the slain militants, defence spokesman said.
Jammu and Kashmir Police has recovered one dead body from Chaki-Pahroo in Nowgam. The deceased was identified as Tasleema of Balpora, Shopian of Pulwama district. Tasleema was missing since November 10, he added.
On Thursday evening, militants fired at a critically injured Shaheen Ahmed Rather of Gotapora Budgam after he was dragged out from a mosque, while on way to the hospital he succumbed to injuries, police added.
Unidentified masked militants according fired upon a mini-bus carrying students of Gund Shephed Mission School of Pulwama district at Vasoora village causing damage to the vehicle. However, none of the students got injured.
Border Security Force on specific information apprehended two Pakistan trained Hizbul Mujahideen militants namely Nazir Ahmed Mir and Javed Ahmed Sheikh both resident of village Ichhagoze, district Pulwama from Kellar, on Thursday night and busted their hideout.
BSF spokesman said that Nazir Ahmed Mir was responsible in grenade throwing incident on 03 CRPF/SOG post at Pakharpora, in Budgam on 15 August in which 16 innocent civilians were injured. Huge quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from the hideout.
